International Director Vonier starts term for 2010-2012

Open letter
Dear AIA Colleagues:
This month I joined the AIA board of directors as the International Director for 2010-2012. I am able already to announce an encouraging development: The board has approved a multiyear international plan for the Institute.
The plan addresses a range of international opportunities and needs, covering issues of interest to all AIA members, especially those who are active internationally. Details of the AIA international plan will be posted soon.
With the four existing overseas AIA chapters and our many other foreign-based members who are not yet represented by a Chapter, I expect to achieve these goals:
- Establishing the AIA International Region
- Creating new AIA Chapters outside of the US
- Building a strong, active AIA International network
- Promoting growth in existing foreign AIA Chapters
