Paris Rive Gauche

The Inner-Paris, Design-Driven Urban Renewal Success

11-13 November 2004

Hotels

The following Paris Bercy/Rive Gauche area Hotels are in walking distance of Friday's and Saturday's conference location. (Métro Bibiothèque François Mitterand on line 14, a.k.a. Le “Meteor”.)

In a departure from past AIACE conferences, no one “conference hotel” is listed. All events commence at the locations noted on the program. Attendees are responsible for their own hotel arrangements; please contact the listed hotels directly.

The Conference site is also accessible by subway and RER C and a number of bus lines. You can learn more about the public transit system at the RATP web site.

This list of hotels represent those with whom we negotiated a price although AIACE does not guarantee the rate. A wide range of hotels are available throughout town; to stay in a neighborhood away from the conference site but still convenient by métro, look for hotels near line C of the RER and line 14 of the métro. Notable neighborhoods on these lines are: near the Madeliene, near Pyramides and Boulevard St. Michel,

Youth hostel option

Paris “Le d’Artagnan”

80, rue Vitruve 75020 Paris Tel: +33 (0)1 40 32 34 56 Fax: +33 (0)1 40 32 34 55 e-mail: paris.le-dartagnan@fuaj.org

While no youth hostel is convenient to the area, the d’Artagnan is of a high rating (4 “pine trees”) and accessible to the conference site via métro lines 3 and 14, changing at Gare St. Lazare, or by bus lines 62 and 29, changing at Cours de Vincennes. The RATP web site recommends the latter, although bus timing is, as in any large city, subject to the whims of traffic. That said though, 8:00 a.m. traffic on a holiday weekend should not be a problem. Evening traffic is generally more adventuresome.

Telephone number country codes are preceded by a plus (+) sign. Numbers in parenthesis (0) are added to the main number when dialing "in country".
