Hotels

The same weekend of AIACE Helsinki, 26-29 May 2005, several large conferences are being held in Helsinki, and it is very difficult to book rooms for that period. Several large hotels in the city center are fully booked. (Some bookings appear to be by agents who are offering rooms at their own prices. Other booking methods may be available.)

Attendees are urged to book soon.

Various websites, for instance, Germanwings, Opodo, etc. provide additional hotels and prices, but be careful about the location. “City center” may still be far from our conference, which is just off the Market Square and Esplanade, and some main streets have heavy traffic.

Try the Hotel Booking Service (which I believe is non-profit municipal) at hotel@helsinkiexpert.fi, or www.helsinkiexpert.fi, or tel. +358 9 2288 1400.

Hotle Skatta: When AIA first contacted us, there happened a misunderstanding (both parts are to blame, I apologize for our part) so that we made a preliminary reservation only for the first night, in other words the first night between the 26th and the 27th January 2005. Just surprisingly we sold out the following nights. I will put —those who want it— up a waiting/queueing list for the following nights, if there were any changes to the group reservation which took all our capacity the following nights , I will let those interested know. —Mr. Jouko Herrala, manager
