Below are the hotel options/prices available as of yesterday for the Dubai conference scheduled for October 5th-7th, 2009. Some of the rooms start as low as 96 Euro per night and the most expensive on the list is 206 Euro. To make reservations registrants should contact hospitality@iirme.com or Tel: +971 4 407 2693 and should make reference to the World Architecture Congress & AIA. Also we should mention that Dubai hotels add one star to their rankings, ie. a Dubai 5 star is a US 4 star.
Steven Miller, AIA adds:
  1. 3.67 AED = $1 or 0.71 Euros
  2. The rates they are quoting are about a 20% discount.
  3. Monarch is brand new and the closest to the Exhibition Center at its quality level. It is really a five star hotel.
  4. This is the old Crown Plaza and is next closest at a four star level.
  5. IBIS and Novotel at the Trade Center are the actual closest. Book fast if you are looking at this price point. These are older than other Ibis and Novotel in Dubai.
  6. Four points will take a taxi ride.
  7. Dusit will take a taxi ride and is a real five star hotel.
  8. Al Murooj Rotana, is a taxi ride and a four star.
