ELIGIBILITY

 

PROJECTS

  • AIA Continental Europe members working globally

  • Professionals working on a project based in Europe. Does not require AIA membership

  • Students based in Europe between Fall 2023 and Spring 2025

  • For professional work: projects must have been completed in the past two years (no earlier than January 2023)

  • For student work: projects must have been completed between Fall 2023 and Spring 2025


CATEGORIES

The awards will be given in four categories: three professional and one student

  • DESIGN FOR CHANGE - Projects focusing on adaptability, optimised resource consumption (energy, carbon), and/or lifecycle design to create resilient, comfortable spaces that minimise negative environmental impact.

  • DESIGN FOR SOCIAL IMPACT - Projects focusing on social integration, equitable communities, community engagement to engage and benefit clients, occupants, and communities, promoting social integration and community equity.

  • DESIGN FOR DISCOVERY - Projects demonstrating innovative process, design or fabrication solutions, applying lessons-learned to advance design paradigms.

  • STUDENT DESIGN AWARD - Student work completed in the academic environment. There will be a €500 prize for the Student Design Award winner.


Submission Requirements

 

The following details should be included in a single PDF file, not exceeding 10MB

  1. Digital project portfolio (maximum of 10 pages, including project description images and plans)

    1. Basic project information: project name, location, architect of record

    2. Drawings and images

    3. Photos

    4. Project team credit

  2. This file should then be attached to the SUBMISSION FORMS, found HERE

Note: Submitted items may be used in future AIA Continental Europe publications.


Submission Costs

Submissions for the three professional categories is €50.00 EUR per project.

There is no cost for the Student Category
